A powerful earthquake hit the central Philippines: record at 6.4 on the Richter scale
Manila: A powerful earthquake struck the central Philippines in the province of Fire, according to the Geological System. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was recorded at 6.4 on the Richter scale. Geographically the earthquake was centered at a depth of about 40 kilometers in Bhagirathi, 60 km northwest of Manila
Research center said.
According to the Philippine Institute of Sesology, the earthquake occurred at exactly 9.11 in the morning. The magnitude of the earthquake was first reported at 5.7 and later it was 6.4. In the meanwhile, many buildings in the island of Lusan have scattered the earthquake. Fearful people left home and sheltered in open spaces such as roads.
The earthquake is also felt in the Philippines, Zambales, Bulacan, Batangas, Bataan and Pampanga. Five people were killed when buildings collapsed in the earthquake. Officials are currently undergoing investigation in areas of the earthquake. The Philippine neighborhood of the Pacific Fire Zone in the Pacific Ocean is significant
